At the end of October, we spent three inspiring days in Timișoara, Romania, attending the EDU4PlastiCircular Project LTTA training – part of our ongoing Erasmus+ project “Education for Plastic in a Circular and Climate Neutral Economy.”
Hosted by the Politehnica University of Timișoara, the event brought together partners, educators, researchers, and PhD students from all over Europe. The main goal was to learn, exchange ideas, and see how the EDU4PlastiCircular training and certification programme can help higher education institutions teach about plastics, sustainability, and the circular economy in more engaging ways.
Over three packed days, we explored topics such as plastics in our everyday lives and their environmental impact, innovative materials and eco-design solutions, circular economy practices and ethical consumption, and how to use the new e-learning platform and digital library developed within the project. We also had the chance to present our part of the project, focusing on how the training and certification programme will be implemented and tested.
The atmosphere throughout the training was warm, friendly, and full of curiosity. It was great to reconnect with familiar faces and meet new colleagues from other universities and organisations. And of course, there was time to discover the beautiful city of Timișoara, enjoy some delicious Romanian food, and even visit the Corvin Castle in Hunedoara. Those moments reminded us that collaboration is not just about work – it’s also about building lasting connections.
This training was an important step for all project partners as we move forward with piloting the EDU4PlastiCircular training programme. We’re excited to bring what we’ve learned back home and continue working on ways to make education greener, more digital, and more circular.
