On May 18, 2026, the SymbioTech project was presented during the International Staff Week 2026 held in Celje, Slovenia, as an introductory event to the international MakeLearn 2026 Conference.
The event brought together 11 international participants from different countries worldwide, representing higher education institutions, research organisations, and professionals working in the fields of sustainability and international cooperation. The presentation was delivered by Valerij Dermol and Alenka Dermol, who introduced the project’s main objectives and activities, with a special focus on digital industrial symbiosis, sustainability, and circular economy practices.
During the interactive discussion session, participants exchanged experiences, perspectives, and good practices related to green and digital transition challenges. Particular attention was given to the importance of collaboration between educational institutions, businesses, and other stakeholders in developing sustainable solutions and improving resource efficiency.
The event further highlighted the value of international networking, knowledge exchange, and interdisciplinary cooperation in building a more sustainable and resilient future.
Through its activities, the SymbioTech project supports the development of innovative approaches in industrial symbiosis, circular economy, and digital solutions for sustainable development.
