THE BRIEF
The client approached us to build a website for a scientific conference – Makelearn & TIIM 2022 International Conference, organized by five different partner universities because we built the site for the conference in previous years. The website had to be appealing to the current conference audience and at the same time had to bring in some new customers.
The website had to be built in the English language because the official language of the conference is English.
It had to offer the conference participants the possibility to submit their papers, the complete peer review process, conference management, and online registration fee payments.
OUR APPROACH
We decided on a design based on the fact that the conference will be held in a hybrid form: on-site in Kaunas, Lithuania, and at the same time streamed online.
We used WordPress Content Management System as the platform. For the conference management system, we decided to use the OpenConf system which has been used by many well-known universities and conference organizers. It covers all the important aspects of the conference: paper submissions, reviewing process, managing the timetables, and similar.
We have also integrated a payment system that enables the conference participants to pay for the registration online.
We are updating the content and are building the social network presence for the conference.
