EDU4plastic event Brasov

On 6 March 2026, Dr. Valerij Dermol from Dermol svetovanje participated as a speaker in the EDU4PlastiCircular multiplier event hosted by Transilvania University of Brașov, Romania. The event took place as part of the 14th International Conference on Materials Science and Engineering – BRAMAT 2026, bringing together researchers, educators, and industry representatives interested in circular economy solutions and sustainable plastic use.

The multiplier event titled “Advancing Engineering Education for Circularity and Responsibility in Plastics Use” focused on innovative educational approaches and collaboration within the Erasmus+ project EDU4PlastiCircular – Education for Plastic in a Circular and Climate Neutral Economy – Preventing Waste Ending Up into the Environment.

Presentation of the EDU4PlastiCircular Digital Learning Environment

During the session “EDU4PlastiCircular digital tools: e-learning platform, digital library, tutorials and demonstrations for certification schema”, Dr. Dermol presented the digital infrastructure developed within the project and demonstrated how participants can access and use its resources.

His presentation introduced several key components of the project’s learning ecosystem.

Digital Library

The EDU4PlastiCircular digital library provides a curated collection of resources related to plastics, circular economy, environmental protection, and sustainable materials management. These materials support educators, students, and professionals who wish to deepen their knowledge of plastic circularity.

Online Learning Platform (LMS)

Participants were introduced to the project’s Learning Management System (LMS), which hosts the online course modules developed by the international consortium. The platform enables learners to:

  • access structured learning modules
  • complete interactive learning activities
  • track their learning progress
  • engage with multimedia educational materials

Gamification and Learning Motivation

An important feature of the platform is the gamification system, designed to increase engagement and motivation. Learners can earn points, badges, and achievements as they progress through the course modules and complete learning activities.

Certification and Digital Credentials

Dr. Dermol also explained the certification scheme implemented within the project. Upon successfully completing the course modules and required assessments, participants can receive:

  • Certificates of completion
  • Digital badges
  • Open badges verifying acquired competencies

These credentials provide learners with formal recognition of their newly developed green and circular economy skills.

Supporting Green Skills for the Circular Economy

The EDU4PlastiCircular project aims to support the development of green skills for educators, students, and professionals working in the field of plastics and circular economy. By combining innovative learning methods, digital tools, and international collaboration, the project contributes to building knowledge and competencies necessary for a climate-neutral and circular plastics economy.

The multiplier event in Brașov provided an excellent opportunity to share project results, demonstrate digital tools, and engage with stakeholders interested in sustainable materials and environmental responsibility.
